We want to host a server this friday but we still need to find a reliable server host.

I might be available, my internet connection is solid, and my PS3 doesn't glitch hardly ever since I set it to not allow custom characters. For some reason custom characters really f's it up. I get a solid 3mbps down and 786 up.

Try to only post downloads in this forum (please contact me first and I'll give you our FTP and a quick and easy way to duplicate our post style). However, since your post IS quite relevant to the CTF Downloads, I made it a sticky.  So you did nothing wrong - I'm just saying for everyone to read that discussions shouldn't go down in this particular forum unless it's related to which files the user should download (which is sort of what you posted anyway). Just a harmless FYI for EVERYONE... Once you establish what you were looking for regarding the server - perhaps we (or you guys) can come up with a CTFShowcase (or whatever you'd prefer to call it) similar to the GOWShowcase. Check it out if you're not sure what I mean.

We (at least those involved with map choices for the server) have played damn near all (if not all) the CTF and vCTF maps released/cooked so far. This map list is essentially a vCTF showcase, but I and other would be more than willing to make CTF and vCTF map showcases for this site.

However, would you like to set up a meeting this evening around 9PM or even tomorrow night? We can get on PSN and I'll give you some info and tools to make it easier for you.  Then perhaps you can tell me who else may be interested in helping and if they're trustworthy enough (whatever that means) then we can give rights to a little team of CTF Moderators/Admins for this Forum.  Then you can also moderate so only Downloads go in here etc...

Maybe I'll get around to actually playing my old favorite gametype, CTF, cause to be honest I'm one of the only GOW members that can count the UT3 CTF Games I've played on 1 hand.  With the onset of you helping out - maybe I'll find some time to play and learn from you guys!

I am actually experimenting tonight with a mapper (Odege) on world detail levels for PS3, it's pretty neat actually, he's doing different levels on the objects and I have to pick them out, triangles, boxes, etc, we are trying to figure out at what levels things become visible, including the skybox. That's 6-7, then Broken Disk is going to try to join my game while I run a map that won't work for his PS3 but works for mine (CTF-Biomium by jayoplus). That should be 7-730. Shorter if he can't join. Then my wife comes home and demands I spend time with her. Sheesh! You'd think she would be over that by now. Maybe it's better if I'm not there, seems like some heavy Clan business is going down! Thanks for the rights, I'll try not to abuse them. I understand about the posts, when a bunch of people post under my column at unreal station it really clutters shit up!

Busy schedule tonight huh?  You're right.  With my potential meeting with TailSnakes, Practice and all the "heavy" Clan Politics and announcements going down tonight it's probably not best.

As for your rights, I have no worries about abuse with YOU.  You are our single top non-clan member contributor.... much respect for that. And for EDITs - as long as it's just a comment I don't mind.  I just don't want full on posts that are discussions in the Downloads forum.  Since there is only this one, we can talk as much as we want under this post... otherwise we should start a new one in General Chat or even Open Projects.  Perhaps I'll move it there so if you can't find it now you know.

Edit - OK, just saw your post, the "We Own Your Core" is Sat all day/night (PC) and this CTF is Friday night PS3, right ? I'll try to make it.

Maps are listed in the first post, I am helping test Domination for PS3 at 630 eastern, if that doesn't fly testing will be very short, and I will go to this earlier. 7 PM, I am hosting, come by if you want to warm up or something, keeping mods down to only Justice and Dual Enforcers. 7 May be a little early for me tonight...but I'm gonna work on loading up my PS3 with the custom maps now so I'll be on the look out for good games in the future...
