I think if everyone knows about that bug in a game, and know how to do it, then its all fair play. 

The specific bug re: the shape charge directly on the Enemy's Core should be offlimits IMO. 

i think blowing enemy barricade is ok... not part of my stratagey but whatever works. i wouldn't consider it being cheap. i'd even allow shapekazee depending on who i play... some people just need some help.lol

I remember the game Woolvie is talking about. I was in fact on the receiving end of a fanny-tanning at the hands of JP when Woolvie arrived.  We did get our core shape charged first. -Thanks of the help during that game.

I asked Woolvie how to do the shape charge gag and then tried it myself. To date, the only thing I have successfully blown up is myself.

As for using the charge to blow the other barricade on Avalanche. Seems fair to me.

make sure u place it right on the core and not on the ground. this does about 25 damage. place charge and pull out rocket luancher and kill urself with it. when u lay dead on the ground the charge will go off and....46 damage everytime!!!

damaging the core in the last 2 mins of the game increaes damage 2x with anyweapon FYI...so thats means u could do over 90 damage with one shaped charge. aint that some shit?!  (try this on dusk- it has 2 shaped charges- thats just wrong)

direct to the core should be 48 damage.  Oh god, please have mercy on me and let me die now rather than to be fragged repeatedly by DaKilla for this minutiae.

Here is my two cents

Avalance to me is legitimate if you use the shape charge to blow the avalanche.

Using the shape charge to ONLY blow up nodes and cores is cheating. If I see someone aka woolvie :) do this I will go ahead and cheat back, but only once.

If you join in late during the game and your core is vulnurable don't blow our prime node. You came in late, you weren't playing and therefore you have no right to cheat so you can try and get the game back.  Either fight till the death to win or just face the loss.

That's just my belief on all of this crap, I think it's stupid but it can also be fun when the game is goofy anyway and no one gives a crap. Just the good tug of war games I get mad at. I am never the person to just walk up and leave but when it comes to that 3rd paragraph I wrote about people coming in late in the game and blowing our prime just so THEY have a winning chance, bothers the heck outta me.

Use the jump boots to jump to top  of the core, then drop the shape charge on top.

You do not have to land on the core to be able to drop the shape charge on top, but it takes a little practice

I think it is cheating because it undermines the point of the game. Think if you had 8+ players per team... It is too easy to put one guy on special ops to just constantly blow the opponent's prime via avalanche... from beginning to end you're constantly undercutting the other team. So what's the point of the game now? How fun would that be? Don't say it takes skill to get from one side of the map to the other. Don't tell me I need to sit at my barricade all game long and guard against cheaters. There's a reason this shaped charge shit don't work on the PC... cuz it fucks up the game.

If you do this, you're a loser (cuz you were backed up to your prime) and a cheater... a cheater... you know what you are when you do this?... a cheater. You're low, you're down, you're dirty, and you're a cheater. I'm not talking about you Woolvie or anyone in particular... just about this act of cheating... it is cheating.... did I mention, IT IS CHEATING!

I thought you could only blow the barricade once per game? Anyway, like dropping the shaped charge on the core. I tried it and didn't do it right. Barricade didn't blow. Took me way too much time to go from my prime to theirs. I give up.

Pacer- Your points are compelling, and I can't seem to get either of them right. So, I won't be pulling that shaped charge shit. Besides, Vern Yip says it is bad chi to use the shaped charge for anything but its intended purpose.

i agreed 100%, hate when people do it in av. because i dont see why people hate it on downtown but then use it on av. Either way ( like it or not ) its been removed from PC for a good reason and when PS3 gets/( a big IF... Lol ) patched then ps3 wont have that bug either and we who dont like that bug will be back to playing the game the way we thought it should have been in the first place!!

you can't blow up a barricade on the PC version?  As far as I can tell barricades don't have a team that owns them, since you can blow either road's barricade in Downtown.

No you can blow barricades in the PC version but it has to ones that your team uses, like on av. it has to be the barricade on your own teams side, in downtown it has to be the barricade by the other teams prime node. you can't blow the other teams on av. and you cant blow the barricade by your own prime node in downtown, i havent checked dusk yet but dusk dont matter cause the tank can crawl over the barricade anyway lol

well, i think is a strategy point if Ur team are lost so faster! and U can use the shape charge on the barrricade enemy, but that seems 2 me bad idea.

  i see no problem with using the shape charge to me it's just like using the redeemer to blow a node or hit a core it just another weapon. the only problme i see is using it to blow the enemy's barricade in avalache and in downtown blowing the enemies prime just to get your's back

now i feel bad. i use the shape charge trick on the avalanche map all the time and blow up the enemies barricade and cause the avalanche. but usually when i do it's cause my team really sucks and they get it back in 5 seconds anyways... but the dowtown one i didn't know about.... so is it cheating to run up and throw the charge on the enemy core and then attack everybody you see? if so i will stop then cause i didnt relize this was considered a taboo move....
